Downtown Lake Wales may look more like Whoville when the Lake Wales Arts Council welcomes the Grinch during the 3rd Annual Make It Magical from
5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5.
Even Dr. Seuss’ furry green villian will be sure to catch the holiday spirit as choirs, crafts, cookies and cheer provide family fun for all ages.
“We’re creating the downtown of our imaginations,” said Chairwoman Barbara Connor, who helped create the event while serving as the president for three years.
Choirs and musicians from the community will entertain us with traditional and jazz holiday music. “We’ve added more twinkling lights to make the downtown shine even brighter,” said Chip Thullbery, Council president.
Stores will be open until 8:00 p.m. so you can do all your holiday shopping.
Arabella Decker’s Caspian horses will enchant children as they enjoy free carriage rides almost as much as meeting the ever popular Santa and Mrs. Claus. Parents always appreciate how they find out what their kids want for Christmas.
In addition to food available for purchase, there will be plenty of free goodies served at receptions hosted by downtown businesses.
A virtual who’s who in the community, the event is a people-watching dream come true. Much like the Grinch’s annual Whobilation, you may see green face paint and weird Whoville hairdo’s during an evening that is sure to make hearts grow three times larger.
