Jonathan Kaufman - Educator Profile

The Lake Wales Arts Center is proud to announce the NEW Instrumental Ensemble instructor in the Home-School Education series, Jonathan Kaufman. Instrumental Ensemble will be taught in conjuction with four other classes within the program in a wheel-style format.

Classes start on January 16th, 2018. Classes take place every Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Holidays excluded). Students will have a special exhibit and music concert at the end of the semester (TBD). Enrollment is first come/first enrolled so we encourage parents to sign their child up for this program before it's too late. Please enjoy Mr. Kaufman’s biography below:

Jonathan Kaufman is a bassist and educator based in the Central Florida area. A Lake Wales

High School alumnus, he is excited to be teaching with the Lake Wales Arts Center and to give

back to the community that helped shape him. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music

degree at the University of Central Florida with a concentration in Jazz Studies.


He has multiple years’ teaching experience instructing private students in addition to teaching

with Orlando-based nonprofit A Gift For Music, Winter Park Music Academy, and the Lake

Wales Arts Center. Additionally, he is heavily involved in live music around Central Florida with

experience in genres ranging from country and rock to jazz and classical. He is adept at passing

on this experience to his students in a fun and accessible way that encourages creativity and

expression as the primary goals of making music.
