Beginning Wheel Pottery (Tuesdays)

This class is designed with the brand new potter in mind. Participants will learn the basics of making pottery on the wheel. We start with centering and after a good amount of practice, finish the class with the pottery in hand! Class fee includes first 25 pounds of clay, glazes and firing. Outside of class studio time is available and recommended.

Weekly Schedule:
Week 1: Introduction and demonstration to “throwing” on the potter’s wheel. In-class, one-on-one work time.
Week 2: Demonstrations on trimming pottery on the wheel. Continued in-class work time.
Week 3: Quick introduction to Glazing. Continue work on mid-process pieces.
Week 4: Finish wet work for any unfinished projects. Glaze any remaining bisqueware pieces.

Supplies needed for class:
- An Apron
- A Towel
- A Clear 15 quart (or similar to (13 inch L x 6.25 inch W x 16.5 inch H) storage box with lid
- Patience (haha, but seriously, yes)
